As thoughts of the spicy book took over my life, and I found myself dedicating more time to it than I was to editing Anais Ascendant, (I KNOW I AM SORRY) I came to two realizations. First, I really can't publish this under my name. And Second, I need a good pseudonym.

So, allow me to introduce you to Remedy Ryatt.

What does this mean? Not much for anyone other than me. For me it means that I am going to do twice the amount of work. Keeping up with this blog, plus her blog, my social media, her social media. Working on my books, and still allowing her time to work on hers. So far she is winning that battle, but I am still dedicating time to work on Anais Ascendant, I PROMISE!

Speaking of that, I think it's likely time for an update on that book, as I have been promising it for actual years (I literally already know how terrible I am, I promise) The first draft is complete, the second draft, which is basically just me reading it aloud to myself to correct wording, check for plot holes etc. is complete. So what is left? Well the third draft of course. During my second pass, I take A LOT of notes about where I can add more detail, what I can rewrite for clarity or drama, and then on the third pass I put all those things in to practical application. This is the draft where the word count fluctuates wildly. My first draft had a little shy of 90k words. The second it went down to about 83k. So far this third draft is pushing 120k.

My FINAL round of edits and read throughs will be next, and I expect that the word count will drop back down to the mid-90's. Anyone who has ever read even a single one of my books will know that I have a tendency to over describe, (the amount of emails I got about the eyeball scene in Anais, was truly astonishing), so that final pass is trimming down, and doing one final sanity check.

I know it seems like a lot of trouble to go through for a book, but honestly it's worth it. I learned a lot of lessons with every book I have sent out in the world, and I have found that this is the best way for me to deliver the best, most polished books I can. Once I am done with my final drafting it goes to the professional editor and my beta readers.

If you want to sign up to be a beta reader, there is a form at the bottom of the website which you can use to express an interest!

Anyway, thank you all for sticking with me. I truly do appreciate you all, and I am looking very forward to getting Anais Ascendant into your hands. Not to mention introducing you all to Remedy!
